A CHARITY is calling on South Lakeland residents to brush up their bridge skills for a national fund-raising event. IndependentAge, which helps elderly people to live independently, is encouraging people across the district to take part in the Big Bridge - games of social bridge taking place across the UK from March 3-9. The Big Bridge is part of the charity's annual action week, which focuses on raising awareness of elderly people's independence and the need to improve care and services. .
