| Wal-Mart Supercenter shrinks again
What's going to be the point if it's only 15,000 sf bigger than the current store? It sounds like Wal-Mart is more interested in building one of their Neighborhood Markets and routing out the other grocery stores in town as opposed to giving us Super Center ammenities. " .
School District Braces For Big Budget Cuts
A shortage of state money is forcing some school district leaders in Duval County to make some tough decisions about looming budget cuts. Officials said they expect to have to trim as much as $18 million from their budget for the remaining school year. School district spokeswoman Jill Johnson told Channel 4 the district might have to cut $6 million to $7 million when state lawmakers meet next month. .
Letter From a Young American
We can educate all our children to the same standard regardless of whether they live in ghettos or suburbs. We can reform our prison and a legal system that seeks to warehouse the underprivileged in conditions unsuited to animals. Yes we can, yes we can. We will win if we think we can. Put an Obama sticker on your car, a sign in your yard. Speak loudly and often in public. Don't let the politics of fear silence our freedom to speak. We shall now have hope. We need you. We need the millions like you. With hope, we can and will turn this anger that's trapping us into a power that can change this county and the world. We will prevail not by the use of the tactics of force, fear and redemptive violence that has imprisoned us for five thousand years under the domination systems of empire, but with the love and compassion that is hardwired into the very soul of every person on the planet.
Toll road paves way to growth in Orange
The Maitland Boulevard extension, Orange County's first new major east-west route in a decade, is intended to ease traffic by creating a bypass around Apopka as well as provide links between roads such as S.R. 429, U.S. 441 and I-4. (GEORGE SKENE, ORLANDO SENTINEL / February 19, 2008) .
Obama and Clinton vie for blue-collar voters in Ohio
The Democrats need to choose a candidate. We have so much division within the democratic candidates because no one has been chosen. I don't want it to become a situation where the candidates lose supporters if one or the other don't get the nomination. Because, I'm a democrat and I believe we should work together to win the race against the republican candidates. I understand there are differences in the candidates and that's why we must vote, but don't let a loss of one candidate prevent giving the support to the winning democratic candidate because it's only going to hurt us, the democrats. I support Obama's call for change and believe in him. I have news of Hillary's financial irresponsibility and don't think she'd make a great leader due to the fact that we need someone who in financially stable.

Warren Gerds column: Country radio rules in area
The 54th annual "Local Cerebral Palsy Telethon" will run from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday on WBAY, Channel 2. At a time, the show to benefit Cerebral Palsy Inc. featured national stars. Lately, the performers have local connections (though their careers carry them far). Entertainers Dan Riley and David Seering will host. The entertainment lineup also includes Let Me Be Frank Productions, the Lovell Ives Orchestra and singer Jenny Thiel. Green Bay Packers Coach Mike McCarthy is honorary chairperson. Also appearing are WBAY personalities Jeff Alexander, George Graphos, Bill Jartz, Cami Rapson and Sarah Thomsen. It's the oldest continuing telethon in the nation, and it probably again will raise around $1 million. "Green" Bay indeed: Two Green Bay area plant people will appear on "The Wisconsin Gardener" at 5 p.m.
Is Homeland Security Too Focused on “Guns, Guards and Gates”?
September 11th was a brutal reminder that there are people out there who have the desire and means to kill us in a mass attack, and we have to stop them. "The best defense is a good offense", we like to say, but in this case it's a little trickier than that. We need an offense mindful of long-term gains and a defense more nuanced than smash-mouth football. "Guns, guards and gates," our bulwark against external threats, remains an essential part of our defense. Yet consider this: attacks attempted or carried out in the UK involved insiders, young Brits willing to kill their fellow citizens. It's hard to employ a simplistic "us vs. them" strategy, when "they" are living and working alongside us. To better understand this quandry, I recently caught up with Juliette Kayyem, Undersecretary of Homeland Security for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a former adviser with the National Commission on Terrorism.
Clinton lacked coherent game plan for after Super Tuesday
I also believe Obama takes himself a little too seriously and has a difficult time acknowledging his vulnerabilties. I view him as extremly righteous compared to Hillary and if Obama wins the nomination he will internalize these hard hits poorly. .
