| 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Review - In Carbon County Wyoming
Though some have complained about blind spots because of the closed rear side panel, I found the outside rear view mirrors so good as to mitigate that blind-spot problem. And, the complaints of some reviewers about the cute, half-size, rear-hinged, rear passenger doors being restrictive is a bit overcritical, I think. It certainly is a big step up and into the less-than-roomy rear seat, but unless you regularly haul folks back there it would probably not be an issue. So, let's wrap this up. In just our few days in Carbon County we've explored two mountain ranges and at least three world-class trout streams, drank beer and discovered characters (including an old cowboy singer) at six great old rustic bars, 4-wheeled up the side of a mountain and down into an otherwise inaccessible mountain valley in our remarkably competent Toyota FJ, relaxed at two beautiful alpine lakes, scorched my uvula on the hottest green chili in Wyoming, overnighted at some amazing inns, met dozens of fascinating people, encountered thousands of pronghorn antelope and one solitary bald eagle, and learned all about Carbon County, Wyoming.

Economists say data released Wednesday showing an unexpected fall in construction during the final three months of 2007 puts some downside risk to their forecasts for next week's gross domestic product (GDP) for the December quarter. Business investment data released Thursday will also show how businesses are handling the RBA's rising interest rate regime and the US economic downturn. The Australian Bureau of Statistics' December quarter construction work done report shows a seasonally adjusted fall of 1.0 per cent, compared with the previous quarter, to $28,854 billion. Economists had expected a two per cent increase. "While there isn't a one-to-one link between work done and components in the national accounts, the soft result points to downside risk to next week's Q4 GDP," Westpac senior economist Matthew Hassan said.
BRR: Braving the cold on a bike
A biker can easily spend a grand to stay warm for a short commute, a training ride or an outfit for Saturday's BRR trip from Perry to Rippey. "For a thousand bucks," said Donny Quixote of Rasmussen Bike Shop in West Des Moines, "you're on the road." Scott Sumpter, creator of bikeiowa.com, bought a pair of biking boots that clip into his pedals for $270. So-called lobster mittens with two finger sleeves ($50 or more) have also helped. Extremities tend to get colder on a bike than running in the cold, he said. .
Mitt Romney to withdraw from presidential contest
We have so much division within the democratic candidates because no one has been chosen. I don't want it to become a situation where the candidates lose supporters if one or the other don't get the nomination. Because, I'm a democrat and I believe we should work together to win the race against the republican candidates. I understand there are differences in the candidates and that's why we must vote, but don't let a loss of one candidate prevent giving the support to the winning democratic candidate because it's only going to hurt us, the democrats. I support Obama's call for change and believe in him. I have news of Hillary's financial irresponsibility and don't think she'd make a great leader due to the fact that we need someone who in financially stable. There are many other reasons why I feel that Barack Obama is a better candidate.
The Mars Volta journeys to the dark side with new album
Cedric suffered a freakish and severe injury to his foot. Once back at home in New York, in Omar's basement studio, the group's engineer cracked up and abandoned the recording. Then the basement flooded. "At a certain point I had to take it away from Cedric," Omar says, though not before the band's singer discovered old papers tucked into the board and had them translated (they became the basis of the new album's lyrics). "I realized that this thing we were doing was unhealthy and negative." What was the turning point? "When it started asking for a vessel." MESSING WITH THE UNKNOWN "At first we would give it gifts," Omar says, "because it asked for gifts" not an uncommon request for spirits in the material world to make of Santera adherents.
Easy money won't cure crisis caused by easy money
That, in particular, should be reason for worry. The overinflated housing bubble and its bust were to a large extent the result of problems in the subprime mortgage market. Too-easy credit, given to people who couldn’t meet traditional lending standards, led to foreclosures. As prices fall, more people find themselves upside-down in their homes, and those who put little money down find little incentive to stay in them. That leads to more foreclosures, which results in falling prices. Government policies played a key role in the subprime mess. As Lew Rockwell, president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute in Auburn, Ala., explained in a recent column, "Throughout the 1990s banks were hounded by federal regulators to end ‘discrimination’ against people with either poor or no credit ratings.

Suppose yourself a National Basketball Association lottery pick. Suppose further that you are blessed with a big body but are somewhat limited (Im being kind here!) in skills. Say your rookie year free throw percentage was a reeking 59%. That aint just malodorous that kind of stench from the line should trigger an OSHA investigation. The HAZMAT guys shouldve been sent in to clean up the site! Say further that you have no shot; you must be within 5 feet of the hoop to score. In plain talk: you cant hit the side of a barn with a Gatling gun even if you are inside the barn. If you were being paid kajillions of dollars, would you dedicate a few minutes each summer to honing those skills and your craft? If that question seems rhetorical, consider the career statistics of a certain overpaid NBA athlete.

If it is what the hell is he doing there, and not to mention he is now dressed in military uniform. 41 days & 17 hrs agoSuggest removalPermalink Kuru of Suva says… As much I do not want to point the finger, theres one name and one party keeps poping up. The previous government is responsible for everything bad our country has endured in recent times. With the land issue among other things, it is no wonder the people of fiji are discombobulated. Not only the people but the military also are befuddled. 41 days & 17 hrs agoSuggest removalPermalink Manumanu of Labasa says… Why call this gimmick "the peoples charter" when this is really the coup charter set by corrupted military officers like Voreqe and failed politicians like Mahen.
